Mary (Bryant) Swan, 87 of North Sandwich, died peacefully at home on March 27, 2017
She was born in North Sandwich NH on August 20, 1929. Daughter of the late Winfield Severance and Dorothy Bullard (Atwood) Bryant. She was the wife of the late Bernard E. Swan.
She attended elementary in North Sandwich and went to high school at Quimby school in Center Sandwich. She was a house cleaner for people in Sandwich for 50 plus years. She even cleaned for the Sandwich library and cleaned both churches in Center Sandwich.
Mary married Bernard on December 9, 1949. After a couple of years Bernard joined the Marines and went to the Korean War. Mary then lived in Virginia for a short period of time. Mary and Bernard then moved to Meredith for a few years and lived there with the three older children and later bought a home in North Sandwich and had two more children.
Mary was a quiet woman and a very loving mother who was always there for her family. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Mary was a member of the Sandwich Fire Dept. Auxiliary. They were called the "Sirens".
She enjoyed knitting, cross stitch, rug hooking and baking cookies with her granddaughters Kayla, Savannah, Chelsea and Amanda. Mary enjoyed going out to eat at restaurants with her husband and later on when he passed away Colleen would take her out to eat with her daughter Kayla and son Cory. We would go to George's Diner, the Center Harbor Diner, Union Diner and Bay Haven to name a few places. She enjoyed having the grandchildren stay overnight. Mary loved sitting on the porch at her parents homestead in North Sandwich.
Mary is survived by her children; Bernard Swan of North Sandwich, Allen Swan (pre-deceased) and his wife Linda of South Tamworth, Regina and Milton Norcross of North Sandwich, Christopher Swan of North Sandwich and Colleen Welch and fiancé Robert Mitchell of Clarksville, NH.
Loving grandmother of Amanda and her husband Kevin Fullam, Carrie and her husband John Ames, Doug Murphy, Charlie Murphy and his wife Tellie, Justin Norcross and his wife Jen, Kyle Norcross, Christopher Swan, Savannah Bergstrom and her husband Eric, Chelsea Swan and her fiancé Steve Knapp, Cheyenne Swan, Jesse Swan, Dakota Swan, Diamond Swan, Cory Ames and his fiancé Michelle Watt, and Kayla Whiting and her fiancé Tyler Tucker.
Great-grandmother of Sioban Fullam, Mathew Fullam, Zamyna Fullam, Adelayne Fullam, Isabella Norcross, Jonathan Norcross, Billie, Mollie Norcross, Kierra Norcross and Allison, Brandy West, Casey Ames, Clayton Swan, Dixie Swan, Kinsley Bergstrom, Kaylee Knapp, William Knapp, Angel Ames, Harley Ames, Madalynn Ames, Hunter Furbish and Malia Tucker.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 11:30 AM in the Rural Cemetery in Center Sandwich, followed by a Celebration of Mary's life at the Sandwich Fire Station.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CHaD, The Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.
