Mary Virginia Shepard

Mary Virginia Shepard, 87, of Meredith, passed away at Lakes Region General Hospital on Saturday, April 26, 2014 after a brief illness.
Born on May 5, 1926, in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Stevens) Fitzpatrick.
Mary worked for many years as a Switchboard Operator for the VA Hospital, in Jamaica Plains, Boston, MA, and also at the Brighton Marine Hospital. She loved travelling with her family on their many trips throughout the years. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but most of all she was a good friend with an abundance of wisdom. She will be dearly missed..
She is predeceased by her husband, John P. Shepard, and her daughter, Denise M. Shepard.
Mary is lovingly survived by her children, Maureen Shepard, Elizabeth Archambault and husband Gerard, Kathleen Covel and husband Richard, Brian Shepard, Patricia Sutton and husband Geron, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Central NH VNA and Hospice, 780 N. Main St, Laconia, NH, or your local chapter of the American Heart Association.
A private memorial service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA, at a later date.
