Marjorie N. Thorne, 90, of Barnard Ridge Road, died April 14, 2016, at Forestview Manor, Meredith, after a brief illness.
Born in Moultonborough, NH., on February 16, 1926, she was the daughter of Jacob and Lenora (Wakefield) Nelson.
Marjorie grew up in Moultonborough and graduated from the Quimby School, in Sandwich, NH., class of 1944. She resided in Sandwich for many years and for just over ten years in Rye, NH. She has been a resident of Meredith since 1990.
Marjorie worked as a teller for Meredith Village Savings Bank for several years. She worked as a sales clerk and taught needlepoint and crewel for the Sandwich Home Industries for many years.
Marjorie was a member of the Meredith Garden Club.
Marjorie was predeceased by her first husband, Lester Burrows Jr., her second husband, Herbert Pettigrew, and her third husband, Clarence Thorne, and her son Steven Burrows.
Marjorie is survived her son, Jon L. Burrows and his wife Darlene of Moultonborough, three grandchildren, Corilynn Hughes, Chad Burrows and David Burrows, four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
