MEREDITH --- Marjorie E. Locke, 97, passed away, Monday, June 9, 2025 at Golden View Health Care Center, Meredith.
Marjorie was born on May 10, 1928, in Fitzwilliam, NH, the daughter of Walter L. Woods and Ruby J. Sprague Woods Talbot. She was a long-time resident of Meredith, NH, having lived on Livingston Road for over fifty years. Having many different means of employment, her last two jobs were seventeen years spent at Jimmy’s Bakery in Laconia decorating cakes and a number of years baking in the kitchen at Inter-Lakes Elementary School in Meredith. She loved both jobs equally.
Marjorie enjoyed cooking, fishing, sewing, reading, and taking long walks. She was happiest when she was outdoors.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Locke of Meredith; brother, Milton E. Woods; sister, June Saucier and her husband Charles of Freedom, NH; sister-in-law, Roberta Woods of Lawton, OK; as well as several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roy F. Locke; son, Roy S. Locke; daughter, Carol J. Locke,; brother, Herbert C. Woods; brother, Norman E. Woods and his wife Dolly; and her sister-in-law, Brenda Woods.
Marjorie’s wishes for a graveside service at Oakland Cemetery in Meredith Center will be honored on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Marjorie’s memory to the Freewill Baptist Church of Meredith where she was a member.
