Margaret Agnes Funai, 84, of Moultonborough, N.H., passed away at Golden View Healthcare on Friday August 22, 2014.
Born in Lynn, MA, on January 25, 1930, Margaret was the only daughter of Albin and Emily Popelka of Lynn, MA.
Margaret attended Lynn English High School. After high school she went to work at General Electric with her father in Lynn, MA. She later went to work for Caldor and Ames, where she was the General Manager for many years. In 1953 she married Albert Funai, where she dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother to her children. While living in Medford, she was known as a loving, caring and affection mom and later grandmother to her nine beautiful grand children. Margaret was always known for compassion and taking care of others before doing anything for herself. She was a communicant of Saint Charles Boromeo after moving to Center Harbor some 10 years ago.
She enjoyed being a member of the "mothers club" and playing bingo at Saint Anthony's Church in Revere, MA.
In addition to her husband, Albert, she is survived by her five children; Linda Downing; of Wakefield, Massachusetts; Denise Poto; of Cody, Wyoming; Richard C. Funai, of Concord, New Hampshire, David M. Funai; of Raymond, New Hampshire, Steven J. Funai; of Londonderry, New Hampshire. She is also survived by her nine loving grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her parents and one son James A. Funai.
