MEREDITH---Marcia J. deSousa, (73) passed away at Lakes Region General Hospital on August 3, 2017 after a period of failing health.
Marcia was born on July 4, 1944 in Reading MA, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Cassilly) Mollica. She attended school in Reading, MA graduating in 1962. After high school, she waitressed for a short time before meeting her husband David, and marrying him in 1965. They had two beautiful children; Robin and James.
Marcia and David lived in Utah for a while, then David enlisted into the United States Air Force for 9 years. After serving in the Air Force they moved back to Meredith and Marcia went to work for Horne Insurance for many years. After she left Horne Insurance she opened the "Jewelry Cottage" in Meredith and sold jewelry for many years, before going to work Jeff Garb Associates selling toys, later retiring in 2009.
Marcia loved to do many different things and enjoyed keeping busy and on the go, she loved quilting, but when she was not making her quilts, spent quality time with her family, boating, water skiing, scuba diving, swimming, camping with her husband, traveling to different places and especially enjoyed her cake and ice cream.
Marcia is survived by her husband David of 52 years, her children; Robin Felch and her husband Eric of Meredith, NH, James deSousa and his wife Jill of Canton, MA. Marcia has four grandchildren; Amber Felch, Laura Speake, Joshua Felch and Mary Ann deSousa and six brothers and two sisters. As well as many nieces and nephews.
She is pre-deceased by her parents and a granddaughter; Olivia Katherine deSousa.
