Lucille Mary Batchelder, 86, of Franklin, formerly of Rumney, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Mountain Ridge Nursing Home, in Franklin, after a lengthy illness.
Born on May 1, 1927, in Ashland, NH, she was the daughter of Robert and Delia (Bellavance) Morse. Lucille was raised in Ashland, graduating from the Ashland High School.
She was a long-time employee with the Rochester Shoe Tree Co., at their Ashland Plant and she also worked at the Laconia Shoe Co. Over the years she enjoyed travelling with her husband to the Amish Country of Pennsylvania to vacation and also to Michigan to visit with family and friends. She was a talented gardener and loved spending time in her beautiful flower garden watching her resident humming birds; she liked NASCAR especially Jeff Gordon's car #24.
Lucille was a loving grandmother who cherished time spent with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she will be missed by many.
She has gone home to greet her dearly missed family members, her husband, Stanley Batchelder, and her three children, Marie (Dionne) McCrea, John Dionne, Sr., and Sandra (Dionne) MacDonald, her parents and her brothers and sisters.
Lucille is survived by her five grandchildren, Robin Sanborn and husband Douglas, of Belmont, Anne Marie Cohen and husband David, of Shrewsbury, MA, John Dionne, Jr. and wife Amy, of Concord, Randy MacDonald and wife Sandy, of Alton, Robert McCrea, Jr. and wife Shannon, of Laconia; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, Rebecca; son-in-law, Clyde MacDonald, of Belmont; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucille's memory to a charity of one's choice.
