Lorraine A. "Lorry" (Jeffrey) Aguiar, age 89, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Golden View Health Care Center in Meredith, NH. Born in New Bedford, MA, on June 26, 1935, she was the eldest of 6 children to the late Joseph and Germaine (LaPlante) Jeffrey, whom immigrated from Canada to the United States.

She was the beloved wife of the late David Aguiar whom shared 54 years of marriage. They met as teenagers in the Bliss Corner neighborhood of South Dartmouth, MA, married in 1953 where they resided and raised their family then relocating to New Hampshire in 1981.

Lorry was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in New Bedford, MA. A homemaker and bookkeeper for the family business, Aguiar Concrete Foundations in Dartmouth, MA, and also worked briefly at Plymouth Manufacturing in Plymouth, NH.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano, antique bell collecting, bowling, card games, ice skating, puzzles, sewing, and swimming. Among her favorite, being at the ocean and shellfishing in Padanaram Harbor in Dartmouth were good times remembered well and for all of us who were lucky to enjoy her famous stuffed quahogs. Most cherished times were tropical vacations and dining with David, her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

She is survived by her four children, David Aguiar and Cindy Demelo of MA, Dennis and his wife Joan (King) Aguiar of WI, Ken Aguiar of SC; 5 siblings, Rene and Raymond Jeffrey, Diane Benjamin and Dolores Millington all of MA, and Norman Jeffrey of NH; 7 grandchildren, Alisha (Aguiar) Alder and her husband Randy, and Kendra (Aguiar) Myers and her husband Matt all of WI, Jennifer (Demelo) Cabral and her husband Paul, Stefanie (Demelo) Machado and her husband Larry, and Matthew Aguiar all of MA, Samantha Aguiar and her husband Tyler Farquhar of KY, and Eric Aguiar of NH; 6 great-grandchildren, Parker, Maya, and Charlotte Myers and Grace and Celia Alder all of WI, and Julia Cabral of MA. She was the mother-in-law to the late Toby Demelo.

Private burial arrangements are in the care of her children along with Mayhew Funeral Home in Meredith, NH.
