It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leigh Marie Hubbard, 50, on April 16th, at home in Boscawen NH after a long battle with cancer.
Leigh was born in Plymouth, NH on September 15, 1972; graduated from Pittsfield High School and attended NHTI to obtain a degree in Business. She married Mark Hubbard on September 9, 2001, and together they dedicated their lives to support, nurture and grow the Hubbard family. In fact, Leigh was so proud of her Hubbard family she bought 15 letter "H's" (of all shapes and sizes) and had Mark hang them throughout their Boscawen home. While she may have been small and quiet in stature, as the matriarch of the family, she had a feisty spirit which kept her family connected and bonded.
Leigh had an insatiable sense of adventure, entertaining both friends and family at the summer home in Maine, collecting shells and sea glass at the local beach, or packing a lunch and organizing an all-day road trip to visit a new lighthouse on her list.
Most of all, Leigh will be remembered for her kind heart and commitment to her family and friends. She always puts others' needs before her own. Her strong advocacy for Devin, her disabled son, was a testament to how deeply she loved and supported her family. As an avid on-line shopper, a steady stream of delivery trucks could be observed backing up to the house, and everyone in the family knew if something was in short supply, a visit to the room in the basement nicknamed "The Store" would probably contain just what was needed. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her.
She is predeceased by Richard Pytel; sister Beth Pytel and brother Kent Pytel.
Leigh is survived by her parents; Lannie and Linda Wood; brother Jason and sister Melissa; husband Mark; 3 sons Tyler, TJ and Devin; 3 daughters Trisha, Kaileigh and Kennedy; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Mayhew Funeral Home, 204 Daniel Webster Hwy, Meredith, NH. on Sunday, Apr. 23, from 1pm to 4pm. A graveside service will be held in Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 N. State St., Concord, NH. on Monday, Apr. 24th, at 11am.
