Lee Richard Lamontagne, 57, of Campton, NH passed away unexpectedly in his home on April 27, 2020.
He was born in Weymouth, MA on June 26, 1962 to Dr. Charles and Christine (Malloy) Lamontagne. He graduated in 1980 from Woburn Memorial High School. Lee enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served as a Unit Supply Specialist in "Reagan's Army" from December 30, 1980 to December 08, 1986. Lee met his future wife, Christine (Megin) Lamontagne, in the winter of 1984. They married on May 7, 1988. On June 17, 1989 their first child was born, Monique Lamontagne. On October 21, 1991 they had their second child, Hilary Lamontagne.
In 1991 Lee started his career as a sign maker at the Lincoln Sign Company. He was passionate about his work and created many memorable signs that still exist today. Unfortunately, the company changed hands and after 20 years, and Lee was forced to leave to find a new job. He worked a few odd jobs over the years until he found his new calling as school bus driver with Durham Bus Services. He had a daily bus route for Campton Elementary School.
Lee served as American Legion Post 83, Lincoln, NH Commander for three years and then served as Sargent at Arms for six years. For many years he graciously donated his time to play Santa Claus for the annual Legion Christmas party. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Lee also enjoyed the outdoors, primarily camping and fishing.
Lee was preceded in death by his father Doctor Charles Lamontagne, brother Charles and sister Elizabeth Lamontagne. Lee is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Christine (Megin) Lamontagne; two daughters Monique and Hilary Lamontagne; his mother Christine (Malloy) Lamontagne; two sisters, Michele (Lamontagne) Aguiar, and Kara Lamontagne and her husband Paul Robdau; two brothers, Christopher Lamontagne and wife Luanne and Sean Lamontagne and wife Cindy; and two grandchildren, Morgan and Charles Daley; as well as ten nieces and nephews.
a graveside service will be held in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. on Monday, June 29th at 2pm. A celebration of life will follow at the American Legion Post 83, 183 Main St. Lincoln, NH,
