Laurier V. Roy, 66, of Plymouth, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, after a period of declining health.
Born in Ste. Methode, Quebec, Canada, on November 13, 1945, he was the son of the late Donat and Rose-Halma (Begin) Roy. Laurier was raised in Ste. Methode attending local schools. At the age of 17 he emigrated to the U.S. and lived in Washington D.C. where he worked in construction. In 1968 he moved to Nashua, NH. He worked for the Local Union # 33 as a carpenter for many years.
He and his wife moved to Plymouth in 2006. Laurier liked fishing, wood working, chopping firewood, gardening, and spending lots of time with his many grandkids. He was a generous man who spent much time helping neighbors and family members with construction projects.
Laurier is predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Robert & Ghislein Roy, and a sister, Carmelle Roy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Jacqueline R. (Audet), of Plymouth; two daughters, Sonya and husband Charles Joslin, of Plymouth, and Annie and husband Craig Allard, also of Plymouth; two sons, Dennis Roy and wife Tania, of Goffstown, and Patrick Roy and wife Andrea, of Nashua; four brothers, Clement, Gerard, Jean-Marie, and Mario, all of Canada; seven sisters, Claire, Muriel, Alice, Monique, Rejeanne, Madeleine, Cecile, all of Canada; fifteen grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob, Grace, Aubrey, Perrin, Logan, Dominique, Avienda, Christopher, Arend, Meghan, Tyren, Brandon, Alyssa, and Cassandra; and many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Canada.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Laurier's memory to the Pemi-Baker Home, Health and Hospice, of Plymouth, NH, The American Cancer Society, or to a charity of one's choice.
