Obituary

CAMPTON---Sadly, Lane H. Adam passed away unexpectantly on January 2, 2026. He was born 9/21/1951 to Kennth L and Nancy Wahlberg Adam in Hartford Connecticut. He graduated from Conard High School in West Hartford CT and obtained an associate's degree from Mitchell College in New London CT. While growing up in West Hartford, he was fortunate to have spent his summers at Groton Long Point Connecticut. The family home there was always special to him. He moved to New Hampshire in the 1980's to work at The Hillside Inn on Newfound Lake. He soon found the outdoor lifestyle to his liking and stayed. He lived in Campton for decades and had many good friends in his building.

Lane always had the knack to make friends and enjoy his life. He retired from TJ Maxx Corp, having worked in retail for his career. Post-retirement, his favorite jobs were at Clark's Trading Post and most recently, the Hobo Railroad in Lincoln. He had just completed the Christmas season at the Railroad. He made many wonderful friends at both establishments in addition to all the interesting guests that he met.

He was a faithful member of the Church of the Messiah in North Woodstock having served in various capacities in the parish. He volunteered with the Campton Area Resource Center, giving back to a community that he loved.

He was a consummate collector of antiques. He began collecting lamps when he was about 12 years old. He used to go out antiquing with his mother and grandparents: a habit that never left him. In addition to his love of collecting, he loved his cats. He was never without at least one furry friend.

He will be missed by his sister, Deborah Adam and her partner Cameron Bortz, as well as by niece, Mariah Pfiffner and nephew, Wesley Pfiffner.

He was blessed in his lifetime to have made many friends with whom he had deep and meaningful connections. Many of these friendships were decades long.

There will be a celebration of Lane's life at 11:00am, January 24, 2026, at the Church of the Messiah, North Woodstock NH. Mayhew Funeral Homes is handling the arrangements. Please visit mayhewfuneralhomes.com to leave a condolence.
