Kevin P. Desmond, 60, died at his home in Center Harbor on June 20 of complications of chronic alcoholism.
Kevin was born in Aldershot, England on September 7, 1962, the son of the late John B. and Elizabeth (Betty) Desmond (Dalton).
Kevin moved with his family to their home on Squam Lake in Center Harbor in 1974 upon his father's retirement from the US Army. He graduated from Inter-Lakes High School in 1981.
Beginning in 2009 he lived in downtown Center Harbor and worked periodically as a cook at various local restaurants, most recently the Center Harbor Diner. He was a voracious reader who served on the Center Harbor Library Board for a time, and never skipped a Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle.
He is survived by two sisters, Colleen Skinner and Meg Desmond, and a brother, John Desmond Jr., along with four nephews and a niece.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
