BRISTOL --- Joy Renee Peduto of Bristol, NH passed away on August 3, 2026, and joined the Lord for everlasting peace and tranquility. Renee', as she was known by, was born in Marion, Virginia on September 21, 1953, to the late Charles Rex and the late Helen (nee Greene) Austin. She is survived by her husband Edward, son Charles Edward and his wife Kristina, daughter Trinley Michelle and her husband Corey, sisters Regina and Ramona and their spouses Tom and Ron respectively, and four beautiful grandsons, Chase, Eddie, Connor and Curtis whom she just adored.

Renee' was a caring religious individual who tried to find the good in everyday life. In her childhood, she participated in religious groups, studied the bible, attended religious camps and set her sights on a career that would help and take care of those in need. She often dreamed of becoming a missionary or a nurse.

Once Renee' graduated from Marion High School (Go Scarlet Hurricanes), she entered the Virginia Baptist Nursing School where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1974. She embarked on a career that had her in the roles as a critical care nurse, a medical surgical nurse and her favorite, as a nurse in the research unit at Duke University Medical Center. At Duke, she cared for children with immune deficiencies that could not live outside of a clean room environment. Many may remember the movie, the Boy in the Bubble. Renee' took care of little boy named Rickie who lived in a bubble at Duke from birth until his passing as a toddler.

In 1975, Renee' met her husband to be, Edward Peduto. They married in 1976 and started their married life in a rural setting outside of Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she and her husband lived until 1980. While in North Carolina, Renee' spent many weekends camping at the beaches as she loved the sun, water and sandy beaches.

In 1980, Renee' and Ed relocated to Merrimack, New Hampshire where Renee' continued in nursing before taking off to start a family. In 1981, Charles Edward was born and in 1983, Trinley Michelle. This was the start of her second chapter of marriage, where she became a loving mother and homemaker and allowing her to nurture and guide her children through the ever-important developmental years. Having grown up with female siblings, Renee' quickly learned some of the surprises that boys can present.

In 1990, Renee' changed her career path and became a tax practitioner. She started out at the local H&R Block office, ended up owning the franchise and prepared personal and corporate taxes for more than 15 years. At this same time, she started spending summers on Newfound Lake where the family would eventually relocate to. Renee' loved sharing "lake life" with friends and family and looked forward to the start of every summer where she could sit on the beach and take in the sun. She was not a winter person so the desire to prepare taxes kept her busy during the winter months.

Renee' loved to do things that she was fearful of. She had a healthy respect for the water and went scuba diving on a family vacation to Hawaii. She was always timid about speed in a car. Yet on her 50th birthday, she drove a NASCAR stock car at the local racetrack at over 100 mph. She was always afraid of heights. On her 60th birthday, she jumped out of a perfectly good airplane and floated to the earth in a tandem parachute jump.

Renee' loved Christmas and during her married life acquired numerous vintage Santa figurines. As time went on, the collection grew to almost 300 and the collection was used to decorate the house every year for more than 40 years. It was typical that up to ten rooms would be decorated and Renee' would have two decorated Christmas trees. One tree always had to be the real thing and had to be tall enough to touch the ceiling. Decorating the inside of the house took approximately one month. When Hallmark started running Christmas in July, Renee' was in heaven almost year-round.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Renee's life to be held at Our Lady of Grace Chapel on August 28, 2026, which would have been Renee' and Ed's 50th wedding anniversary. Our Lady of Grace is located at 2 West Shore Drive in Bristol, NH. Her family will receive guests at Our Lady of Grace from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow. After the service, friends and family are invited to a luncheon reception at a nearby restaurant overlooking Newfound Lake, the location of which will be announced during the service.

Renee's family has entrusted her care to Mahew Funeral Homes in Meredith, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those donations be made to the Newfound Lake Region Association in honor of Renee' (www.newfoundlake.org).
