Joseph Edward Oustecky

JOSEPH EDWARD OUSTECKY, age 87, was born on July 4, 1933, and passed away on July 14th, 2020, at Lakes Regional General Hospital following a sudden medical emergency.

He was born and raised in Queens, New York. He attended City College - New York and New York University. Following two years in the US Army, he began his career as an electrical engineer at Kollsman Instruments in Queens, New York. He remained there for 20 years before joining George Malvese & Company in Hicksville, NY, where he remained until his retirement in 1995. He and his family moved to Plymouth, NH in 1994, near where the family vacationed for years.

He married Winifred Hope Aichroth in 1959. They have two children: Kimberly Hope Oustecky Berman and Kevin Edward Oustecky and two grandchildren: Abigail Lynn LeRoux and Jessica Hope Berman, and four great grandchildren.
He and his wife volunteered extensively at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center in Holderness, were active in the Pemigewasset Valley Fish & Game Club, attended and were active at the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ as members; Joe also served as treasurer there, and regularly volunteered at Plymouth Area Community Closet's Meals for Many.

Joe loved boating and became a tour boat captain for Squam Lake Cruises at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center. Joe was known for his friendly, outgoing demeanor, story-telling abilities, his ability to fix virtually anything, and his sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joe's name to Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, PO Box 86, Plymouth, NH 03264; or Pemi-Valley Fish & Game Club, PO Box 38, Plymouth, NH 03264.

A celebratory memorial service will be held at a later time, date and place to be announced.
