DATELINE: Campton, NH.


Joseph Anthony McComiskey Jr., 58, of Rosy Lane, Campton, died February 1, 2016, at Concord Hospital, in Concord, after a brief illness.

Born in Methuen, Massachusetts on January 13, 1958, he was the son of Joseph Anthony and Elizabeth (Donovan) McComiskey Sanzica.

Joseph grew up in greater Lawrence Massachusetts area and attended Lawrence High School. He joined the Army not long after school and trained as a military police officer. He later served in the Army Reserves. He was a graduate of the 103rd New Hampshire Police Academy.

Joseph started his full-time officer career in Waterville Valley, NH. and served in other town in Grafton County. Joe spent most of his career as a full time officer for the North Woodstock, NH. Police Department.

Joseph served in the US Army Reserve as a military policeman.

Joseph is survived by his wife of over twenty-five years, Karen L. (Rollo) McComiskey of Campton, his four children, Marcy Ritorto of Ohio, Joseph A. McComiskey III, of Laconia, NH, Michelle Sutter and Justine Prisco, both of Florida, step-son Michael Hilson of Concord, NH, ten grandchildren, his sister, Joan Flynn of Punta Gorda, FL, his brother, John L. Sanzica of Louisville, KY, his step parents, Justine McComiskey of Haverhill, MA, and Joseph Sanzica of Louisville, KY. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, Cataldo and Route #3, Meredith, on Friday, Feb. 5th, from 5pm to 8pm. A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held in the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Church St. Lincoln, on Saturday at 11am. The Rev. David Kneeland, pastor, will officiate. Spring burial will be held in the Middle Neck Cemetery, Moultonborough, NH.
