John "Jack" Salivonchik, 75, of Plymouth passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022.
He was born and raised in Catasauqua, PA in 1947 the son of John Salivonchik and Olga (Grason) Salivonchik. He was married to Sarah (Fitch) Salivonchik.
He graduated from Catasauqua High School and from Kutztown State College. He moved to New Hampshire to start his career as high school math teacher in Plaistow, NH. He later worked as a paralegal before starting his career in the hospitality industry.
He moved to Waterville Valley, NH and was manager of The Finish Line restaurant, the Schwindi Hutte, and the Waterville Valley Golf Course. He later worked as the food and beverage purchaser at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH. He returned to Waterville Valley and managed T-Bars restaurant and later became the director of food and beverage for Waterville Valley Resort. He retired in 2020.
Jack was an avid golfer, skier, and fly fisherman. He loved the outdoors and especially his annual fly-fishing trips to Tim Pond Camps in Eustice, ME. Jack enjoyed spending time with family and friends in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.
Jack was an enthusiastic sports fan and enjoyed watching all sports including local high school, college, and New England sports teams. He was a proud (yet critical) fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Boston Celtics. He loved fly fishing, cooking, and spending time with his wide circle of friends and loving family.
He is predeceased by his parents and a brother, Serges Salivonchik. He is survived by his wife of over 28 years and his son John Salivonchik of Plymouth; sister-in-law Fay Salivonchik of Whitehall, PA; brother-in-law Neil Fitch and his wife Karen of Portland, ME; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Calling hours will be Thurs. 9/1, at Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth, NH, from 6-8pm. Interment will be at the Waterville Valley Cemetery, Boulder Way, Waterville Valley, NH. on Fri. 9/2 at 11am.
