John Arthur Nutter, 68, of Orford, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Born May 17, 1944 in Woodsville, NH, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. Nutter and Evelyn (Johnson) Nutter. John was a lifelong resident of Orford, NH and attended Orford schools.
John married his first wife Darlene (Rich) Bluto, of Coventry, CT, and remarried on September 25th, 1982, in Orford, to Linda Margaret (Spears) and they would have celebrated their 30th anniversary this year.
John was currently employed by Precision Lumber, Inc. (formerly King Lumber Co., Inc.) in Wentworth, NH for the past 36 years as a loader operator and planer mill employee.
John loved to hunt and fish, tend his gardens, and bake. He especially enjoyed being in the woods and listening to nature. He liked NASCAR, tractor pulling, traveling, and going to concerts and cultural events, and the Red Sox. Most of all, he enjoyed the time spent with his wife, Linda, and they did everything together. He loved his friends, his job, and life and he lived it to the fullest and was always anxious to learn something new.
He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Robinshaw of Coventry, CT, and a grandson, Morgan Lee Mounts.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Linda; two sisters, Joyce Mack and her husband, Quentin, of Wentworth, NH, and Ramona Weeks, of Lebanon, NH; a brother, Theodore Nutter, of Warren, NH.; two daughters by his first marriage, Loretta Claire Rich and Leighia Di-ann Rich, of Coventry, CT; a son, John Edward Nutter, of Lewiston, ME; two stepsons, Bruce M. Llewelyn, Jr., of Winchendon, MA, and Jeffrey O. Mounts, of St. Paul, MN; and a step-daughter, Cathie-Anne Jamieson, of Turners Falls, MA; grandchildren, Quinton Austin Rich, and Catherine Taylor Call, both of Coventry, CT, Rebecca Lee Varnery, Michelle Kelley Keim, and Adam John Nutter, all of Lewiston, ME; step-grandchildren, Jordan and Morgan Llewellyn, of MA, Caleb and Emma Mounts, of St. Paul, MN, and Elizabeth, of Vermont; three great grandsons, Antonio and Bryce, of Lewiston, ME, and Peter Allen Rich, of Coventry, CT. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an uncle, Arthur Johnson and his wife Ruth, of Erving, MA.
There will be no calling hours or services at John's request. There will be a celebration of John's life at a later date to be announced.
