SANBORNTON---John "Chuckie" Di Nitto, (94) of Sanbornton, NH, formerly of Concord, NH was liberated from the shackles of dementia in the early morning hours of December 30, 2017; where he slipped away peacefully in his sleep.
John was the 2nd of 5 sons born to Erasmo "Ray" and Anna "Anita" (Pavia) Di Nitto in Somerville, MA on January 9, 1923.
John served nearly 3 years in the United States Army during WWII as a cannoneer. After serving in WWII he went to work at Angelo's Italian Restaurant in Concord, NH work his way up from dishwasher to Chef. In the early 1960's he became a US Postal Clerk in Concord, NH retiring in 1983.
John is predeceased by his parents Erasamo and Anna (Pavia) Di Nitto; his 1st wife of 19 years Mary (Ritchie) and his 2nd wife of 45 years Ethel (Wexler) Ritter; his brothers; Genero, Thomas, Cosmo and Joseph and his eldest son; John Thomas.
John is survived by his son; Robert and wife Carolyn (Brown) Di Nitto of Sanbornton, NH, daughters in law; Martha (Beust) and Susan (Dore) Ritter, both of Concord, NH. His grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
