Jessie Lovell Furey, 94, died February 22, 2010, at Ledgeview in Laconia. She was born in New York City on July 4, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Jessie Lovell (Thompson) Schroeder. She grew up in New York City and graduated from Hunter High School. In 1936, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from Hunter College, and a Master's degree in Mathematics from Columbia University in 1937. She was a member of the Pi Mu Epsilon national mathematics honorary fraternity, and the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She was married to Robert A Furey in 1939 and they lived in New York until 1986. She taught math for many years in New York, and retired from the Scarsdale School system in 1976. In 1986, she moved to Center Harbor, New Hampshire and was an active member of the Center Harbor Women's Club and the Meredith Congregational Church. Mrs. Furey and her husband were long time summer residents of Stinson Lake where they owned and operated Treasure Cove Camp from 1947 to 1961.She is predeceased by Robert A Furey, her husband of 62 years. She is survived by her children Jessie Lovell and John Foley, and Dr. Robert A. and Janet Furey; her grandchildren Anna and Kevin Simon, Alison Furey, Jessie Lovell and Max Dawson, and Joel and Leah Furey; her great grandchildren Avram Dawson, Izak Furey and Raquel Moyes; and her nephew Charles Trantum. Visitation:Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010, from 4 thru 6 pm, at Mayhew Funeral Home, Routes 3 and 104 in Meredith. Service:A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 11:00 am at the 1st Congregational Church of Meredith, Rev. Russell Rowland will officiate.Cemetery:Interment will be held in the spring at Center Harbor Memorial Park.
