Jennifer Kristin Leiblein-Martel

Jennifer passed away quietly at home with loved ones nearby after a courageous seven-year fight against cancer. Jennifer’s strong faith carried her through the difficult times.
Jen leaves behind her husband Charles LaRosa, her son Benjamin F. Martel and his wife Natalia (Sousa), her cousins Susan Sutton, Dale O’Donnell, and Janet Law, her best friend Dawn E. (Paulsen) Ruel and her loyal companion Flower. Jen is predeceased by her parents Francis X. Leiblein and Hazel (Wentworth) Leiblein.
Jen came to New Hampshire thirty-one years ago with Dawn, both seeking the adventure of a new life. Jen found work with Citizens Bank eventually becoming branch manager in Ossipee. With her then-husband Jim, they welcomed their son Ben into the world. Jen took a break from banking to raise her son. During those years she learned about raising cows, pigs, and chickens. Eventually, Jen returned to banking at Citizens as branch manager in Conway, NH.
In her younger years, Jen was involved in different activities. As an avid horse lover, she took up English riding lessons at Andover Riding Academy. Eventually advancing into training for and competing in horse shows and jumping events. Jennifer’s fondness for horses lasted throughout her life. Jay, as her Dad called her, also thoroughly enjoyed skiing. She and her dad would head out for a day of skiing whenever they could. Another activity that Jen participated in was being involved with the Rainbow Girls. At the age of twelve Jen and Dawn joined Rainbow. Until twenty years old, she dedicated time to serving others through the charitable and benevolent work of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Jen even went on to the Massachusetts Grand Assembly becoming an officer as the Grand Sister of Immortality. This was an honor and achievement to be proud of.
In Jen’s younger years, she grew up on St. Mary Road in Burlington MA, where she graduated from Burlington High School class of 1983. After graduation, she embarked on the journey of studying business and finance at Pine Manor College. This was a proud achievement for Jen and her family. Jennifer’s professional employment career began in real estate at Century 21 in Massachusetts. Then the road to adventure brought Jen to Sandwich, NH where life began anew.
Jennifer was a joy to know, and fun to be around. There were her silly jokes and quirky expressions accompanied by her big beautiful smile. Jen, you have left a hole too big to fill. You will be missed by many. Rest easy.
Calling hours for Jennifer will be held at Mayhew Funeral Home, 204 Daniel Webster Highway, Meredith, NH 03253 on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A graveside service will take place on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, MA.
