Jane Cantlin

April 15, 1948 — September 1, 2018

Jane Cantlin, 70, died at her home in Thornton, NH on Tuesday, September 1, 2018 with loved ones by her side. Jane was born in Hartford, CT to William H. Horton, MD and Annie Mae Horton. She graduated from LaSalle Junior College in 1968 and married the love of her life, Bill Cantlin in 1972.

Jane had a zest for life that was most apparent when on a dance floor but, away from the music her greatest satisfactions were found through fitness, art and her family. She shared her passion for fitness as an aerobics instructor in the 80's, then a yoga teacher and personal trainer in the following decades. A gifted athlete, Jane was an avid skier on both snow and water. She loved to hike and completed a one-day Presidential traverse in New Hampshire's White Mountains and completed the 17.1-mile Imogene Pass Run in Telluride, CO twice.

Jane's artistic talents were frequently expressed through the written word in letters to friends and through intricately crafted cards for her grandchildren. Her mural at the Common Man Spa in Plymouth, NH is a beautiful demonstration of her talent with a paintbrush. As the creator and designer of Delaney Cards, she was able to share her talents and whimsy yet thoughtful message to a larger audience.

Family was of the utmost importance to Jane. As a mother, she was completely engaged and committed to her daughters' upbringing and happiness. Her commitment to her children's lives was seen in varying ways, from serving on the Thornton School Board, two terms as chair, to hosting pre-prom dinners. As a grandmother, Jane was nothing short of incredible. Her grandsons will be able to hold onto the memories of snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, fort building, paddle boarding and the list goes on. She showed the newest generation that women can be strong, capable, graceful and fun.

Jane was preceded in death by her brother William Horton and is survived by her husband Bill Cantlin, daughters Kalee Tilli and husband Andrew of London, UK, Ashley Gray of Costa Mesa, CA, grandsons, Derek Tilli, Marshall Tilli and Graeson Gray, and sisters Marcia Jordan and husband Chuck of Cape Carteret, NC and Barbara O'Connor and husband Rick of Wolfboro, NH.

Services and memorial reception will be held at The Barn on the Pemi, 341 Daniel Webster Highway, in Plymouth, NH at 2 pm on Sunday, September 9th.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in memory of Jane to Pemi Baker Community Health, 101 Boulder Point Drive, Suite 3, Plymouth, NH 03264
