James W. Kenney, 68, of Rumney, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Franklin Regional Hospital with his loving family by his side after a lengthy illness.
 
 
 Born on August 21, 1944, in Salem, MA, he was the son of Leonard J. and Harriette E. (Woodman) Kenney. James was raised in Hill, NH attending local schools. After graduating high school James enlisted with the U.S. Army and fought with valor and courage in the Vietnam War. An ex-P.O.W. he recently received recognition from the U.S. Government.
 
 
 James was a self employed entrepreneur who owned several businesses during his working years. He started work as a milk man for Weeks Dairy, served as a Plymouth, NH police officer for a short time, started a very successful trash service, Central Disposal, which he operated for over twenty years, owned the Lyme Rd. Laundromat, in Hanover, NH before starting his canteen truck food service "Munchables" which he operated with his beloved wife Sondra.
 
 
 James had an interest in restoring old trucks and tractors. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
 
 
 He is survived by his beloved wife of twelve years, Sondra (Gauthier) Kenney, of Rumney; four daughters, Kathy Lamberton and husband Gary, of Groton, VT, Jayme Haddock and husband David, of Campton, Erin Kenney, of Littleton, Colleen Kenney, of Groton, NH; two step-children, Elizabeth Bell-Kenney, of Franklin, NH, Christopher Bell-Kenney and significant other Ashley Leonard, both of Rumney; five grandchildren, Taylor, Lauren, Logan, Connor, Blake; several cousins.
 
 
 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James's memory to the American Diabetes Association.
