James Hill Fadden

James Hill Fadden, Sr, 82, of N. Woodstock, NH, died suddenly on April 2, 2018, at Littleton Regional Hospital, in Littleton, NH.

Born in Lincoln, NH, on June 10, 1935, he was the son of Norman B. and Marion (Clark) Fadden.

Jim grew up in the North Woodstock area and was a graduate of Woodstock High School, class of 1954. After his graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1954 to 1958. He has been a resident of North Woodstock for most all his life.

Jim worked as a Service Technician for the Dead River Company and Granite State Petroleum Company and he owned and operated Fadden Oil Company, in N. Woodstock, for many years. He also owned and operated Fadden General Store, in N. Woodstock, for over ten years.

Jim served the town of N. Woodstock in many different positions over the years, he was a past member of the N. Woodstock Volunteer Fire Department, and past Deputy Fire Warden. He was the Assistant Boy Scout Master of Troop 224 and watched his three sons become Eagle Scouts.

James was a forty-year member and served nine times as Worshipful Master of the Parker Masonic Lodge, #97 F&AM, and the Olive Branch Mount Prospect Lodge #16, in Holderness, NH. and a member of the Scottish Rites Bodies, Valley of Lancaster-Littleton. He was also a forty-years member of the Joseph Newton Smith American Legion Post #83, in Lincoln, NH.

Jim enjoyed being involved and took great pride in the yearly Sugar on Snow Weekend at the Fadden Sugar House. Jim has left behind his faithful Black Labrador, Cindy, who has taken great care of him through the past years.

Jim is predeceased by his sister Ruth Paynotta, who resided in Grantham, NH.

Jim is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Mary E. (Towers) Fadden of N. Woodstock, 3 sons, James H. Fadden Jr. and his wife Suzanne, William Fadden, Aaron Fadden and his significant other, Nicole, all of N. Woodstock, 6 grandchildren, Kristi Letson and her husband Scott, of West Lebanon, NH, William Fadden and his wife Jenn of Killen, TX, James Henry Fadden and his wife Kristyn, John Fadden, Kayla Fadden, Skylie Fadden, all of N. Woodstock, 5 great grandchildren, Seamus, Bryn, Maggie, Pasley, and McKenzie, 2 nieces, Debbie Pierce and her husband Jim of Grantham, NH, Linda Baker and her husband Floyd, of Dover, DE, and many grand nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held in the Parker Masonic Lodge, NH Route 112, N. Woodstock, on Sunday, Apr. 8th, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. A Masonic Service will be held at the lodge at 2:30pm. Burial will be held in the NH Veterans Cemetery, NH Route #3, Boscawen, NH, on Monday, Apr. 9th, at 11am.
