Jacqueline B. Shoemaker, 100, of Cinnamon Lane, Laconia, NH, passed away on July 13, 2023, at Concord Hospital-Laconia. She was the widow of Dr. Richard N. Shoemaker who died in 2003. They formerly resided in Westport, CT and in Waverly, PA.
Jacqueline was born in Plymouth, MA, on June 24, 1923, daughter of Arthur E. and Ruth (Bradford) Beever. She graduated from Newton HS in Newton, MA, and attended Colby Junior College and graduated from Katherine Gibbs School, Boston. She was a member of the Handel and Hayden Choral Society and studied music privately, both in Boston.
She was a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, the Governor William Bradford Compact and the Pilgrim Society and the Laconia Congregational Church.
She is survived by her two children, Susan S. Poirier and her husband Albert, also Richard N. Shoemaker, Jr. and his wife Nancy, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services per her request. The family will have a private burial in Plymouth, MA.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Sunshine Fund, Taylor Community or to the donor's choice.
