Irene Gertrude Greenleaf

Irene Gertrude Greenleaf, 87, of Meredith and Beebe River, Campton, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Goldenview Health Care Center, in Meredith after a lengthy illness.

Born on August 10, 1927, in Meredith, she was the daughter of Leon H. and Winifred (Comstock) Clark. Irene was raised in Meredith and attended local schools. She furthered her education and achieved her LPN Certificate; she worked as an LPN in the local nursing homes throughout the years, and her main position was in the Nursery at the Lakes Region General Hospital.

Irene was very active in the community, she was a 75 year member with the Grange, Subordinate, Pamona, State and National, and she was a 40 plus year member of the Rebekahs serving as a past Noble Grand and past District Deputy President, as well as a 25 year member of the VFW Auxiliary, in Meredith.

Irene loved children and she was a loving foster grandmother for 25 years at the Interlakes Daycare Center; she was also a devoted member of the Calvary Bible Church, in Meredith.

Predeceased family members include her husband Ralph C. Greenleaf, and her three brothers, Harry, Leon Jr., and Lewis (Clark).

She is survived by her sister, June A. Plummer, of Meredith; sisters-in-law, Nancy Piper Webb, of Meredith, Laura Heath and Ruth Manion, both of Holderness, Faith Clark, of Newport, NH; several nieces and nephews as well as several grand nieces and nephews.
