Irene May Avery, 87, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Belknap County Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.
Irene was born on January 28, 1927, in Bristol, the daughter of Leslie and Eva May (Evans) Bliss. She was raised in Bristol, attending local schools and graduated from the Newfound High School.
She was a long-time employee of I.P.C., Co, of Bristol.
In her life she was a loving wife and aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews, she was also long-time member of the Bristol Baptist Church. Irene loved to shop and dine out. She had many friends throughout the greater Bristol area.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wendell Berry Avery, of Bristol, in 2002, two brothers, Daniel and Gerald Bliss, both of Bristol, and a sister, Natalie Bliss - Jewell, also of Bristol.
Irene is survived by her sister, Jeanine Bliss Copp, of Meredith, and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the area.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Irene's memory may be made to the Bristol Baptist Church, or to a charity of one's choice.
