Ibra Benjamin Royea

Ibra Benjamin Royea, 85, of East Holderness Road, Holderness, died suddenly on January 25, 2014, at Catholic Medical Center, in Manchester, NH.

Born in Meredith, NH on June 29, 1928, Ibra was the son of Ibra D. and Agnes L. (Proctor) Royea.

Ibra grew up in Meredith and graduated from Meredith High School, class of 1948. He has been a resident of Holderness since 1953.

Ibra worked in the body and paint shop of Meredith Motors Company, now Meredith Ford. In the mid 1960's, Ibra started Royea's Auto Wrecking, in Holderness, which he has owned and operated for many years.

Ibra was a life member of the Granite State Gas and Steam Engine Association and a former member of the Wicwas Lake Grange.

Ibra was a US Army veteran and served in Germany during the Korean War.

Ibra was predeceased by his son, Rick, his daughter Cindy, his brother, Richard and his sister, Eleanor.

Ibra is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Ruth A. (Blake) Royea of Holderness, sons, Michael Royea of Holderness, Peter Royea of New Hampton, daughters, Donna Thompson of Alexandria, Kathy Answorth of Meredith, fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, sister, Margaret Earl, brother, Robert Royea, both of Holderness, brother, David Royea, of Center Harbor, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, Routes #3 and #104, Meredith, on Saturday, Feb. 1st, 1pm to 3pm. A graveside service will be held in the Trinity Churchyard Cemetery, Route #175, Holderness, on Thursday May 8th at 11am.
