Horace Alonzo ?Lonnie? Morse, Jr., 82, of Plymouth, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Mountain Ridge Center, of Franklin, after a lengthy illness.
Born on February 2, 1930, in Plymouth, NH, he was the son of Horace A. and Amy Betsy (Morse-Merrill) Morse. Lonnie was raised in Plymouth, attended local schools, graduating from Plymouth High School. After his graduation he joined the Navy at the end of WWII and served for a short period of time before enlisting with the Army where he served during the Korean War.
Lonnie was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He passed his love of the great-outdoors down to his children and grandchildren by teaching them how to hunt and fish. Lonnie also had a great interest in the wreck of the Titanic and was involved for over 30 years in a project with a company that he started (?Titan Development Co.?) that was working toward the recovery and reconstruction of the wreckage.
He is predeceased by his brother and sister, Russell Merrill and Elaine Dreghorn.
Lonnie is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Norma E. (Dunlap) Morse, of Plymouth; four daughters, Patricia Thompson, of Mesa, AZ, Barbara O?Brien and husband Robert ?Bobby?, of Hubert, NC, Debra Sweetsir and husband Tim, of Ashland, NH, Kim Forbes and husband Scott, of Plymouth, NH; nine grandchildren, Roger, Shane, Billy, Robbie, Cory, Nathan, Jamie, Amanda, and Chris; five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Memorials:Donations may be made in Lonnie?s memory to the Disabled American Veterans Organization: PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45290-0301 or
