CENTER HARBOR-- Helen H. Olden, (92) passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on November 20, 2017.
Helen was born On August 30, 1925 in Warner, NH the daughter of Isaac and Persis (Smith) Atherton.
Helen grew up in Warner and went to school at the Simonds Free high school in Warner. After high school she went to work at the Federal Bureau of Investigation doing finger printing. After working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for many years. After she went to work at Tilton Sand and Gravel, commuting from her home in Webster, NH. While she was working at Tilton Sand and Gravel she met her husband; Jesse E. Olden, getting married in 1971. They moved to Center Harbor shortly after they were married.
Helen loved to hunt and fish in her younger days, being with people and helping others. She loved to entertain people at the lake. After retiring from Tilton Sand and Gravel, she remained very active and continued to work part time with the Moultonborough/Sandwich Senior Meals programs, occasionally delivering meals to families in Sandwich, NH.
She is survived by her nieces; Marilyn Oswell of Somers, CT, Audrey Lang of Florida, Judy Howcroft of Pittsburg, NH, Florence Atherton of Tilton, NH, Carol Riordon, of Tilton, NH, Nephews; Bruce Hawkins of Newmarket, NH, Walter Atherton, Jr. and William Atherton both of Tilton, NH, and many very special friends. She was predeceased by her husband; Jesse E. Olden, her parents, and brothers; Norman P. Atherton, Walter A. Atherton, Sisters; Marion Kibbe, Marguerite Rollins and Natalie Hawkins, Nephews; John Rollins, George Atherton and David Atherton.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Helen's memory to the New Hampshire Humane society, 1305 Meredith Center Road, Laconia, NH 03246.
