Hazel G. Murphy

Hazel Godfrey Murphy, 86, of Pease Rd., Meredith, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Lakes Region Hospital, in Laconia, after a lengthy illness.Born on September 8, 1924, in Staten Island, NY, she was the daughter of Harold and Louesa (Bullis) Godfrey. Hazel was raised in Rochester, NY, attending the local schools, and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from the Middlebury University, in VT.Hazel was a long time employee of the Kodak Co., in Rochester, where she worked as a Statician, she retired in 1974. A few years after retirement, she and her husband William moved to Meredith, and have resided here for 33 years. Hazel enjoyed gardening and sewing, and spending time with her friends and family.She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, William L. Murphy, of Meredith, and many friends in the Meredith community.Memorials:In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to a charity of one's choice.Service:Services will be private.
