Harry E. Plummer, Jr.

Harry Ernest Plummer, Jr, 74, of Circle Drive, died June 30, 2009, at his home, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.     Born in Meredith on May 22, 1935, he was the son of Harry E. Sr. and Frances [Roberts] Plummer.      Harry resided in Meredith all his life and attended Meredith High School.       Harry worked most all of his life, as a mechanic.  He worked for several independent contractors in the Meredith area including, W.F. Richards and son, and then as a self employed mechanic for many years.     He was a twenty-five year member of the Wamesit [Meredith] Volunteer Fire Department, a forty year member of the Griggs-Wyatt American Legion Post #33, Meredith, and the Chocorua Lodge of Mason, #83, Meredith.     Harry was a US Army veteran.     He enjoyed summering with his family, for forty years, in Wells ME.  He also enjoyed camping and NASCAR.           He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, June A. [Clark] Plummer of Meredith, sons, Alan Plummer and wife Karen of Glastonbury, CT, Bruce Plummer and wife Cindy of Meredith, daughter Cheryl Plummer of Londonderry, NH, 4 granddaughters, Cassie, Casey, Tessa and Megan, sister Dorothy P. Forsberg of Meredith, many nieces and nephews.Memorials:In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meredith Visiting Nurses Association, NH Route #25, Meredith, 03253.Visitation:Calling hours will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, Routes #3 and #104, Meredith, on Thursday 6pm to 8pm.  Service:A graveside service will be held in the Oakland Cemetery, Meredith Center, on Friday at 11am.  The Rev. Edward J. Charest, pastor of the Plymouth United Methodist Church, will officiate.
