Guy Taylor, Jr., 89, of Plymouth, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 after a period of declining health.

Born on February 18, 1926, in Plymouth, he was the son of Guy and Lillian (Farnham) Taylor, Sr. Guy was raised in Rumney, graduating from the Plymouth High School, Class of 1944. After his graduation he enlisted with the U.S. Army serving with honor and courage during World War II in the Pacific Theatre from 1944-1946 and was honorably discharged with the Rank of Sergeant at the conclusion of his service.

After the war Guy returned to Plymouth. He married Lucille (Ford) in 1948. Together they raised their family in Plymouth and shared 36 years of marriage before Lucille's untimely passing in 1984. In 1988 Guy remarried to Janet (Robie).

Guy's working career includes 5 years as a lineman with the White Mountain Power Company, and after attending Barbering School, 48 years as the proprietor of Taylor's Barber Shop which was situated in the Rollins Block, on Main Street, in Plymouth. Guy closed his shop and retired from Barbering in 1999.

He was a past President of the Plymouth Lions Club, a member and past President of the Baker River Valley Snowmobile Club, a member of the Plymouth V.F.W. Post 4483, and he was a devoted member of the Plymouth Congregational Church.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle who loved the great outdoors, fishing, and snowmobiling.

Guy is predeceased by his first wife of 36 years, Lucille (Ford) Taylor; daughters, Karen Taylor, and Sharyl Oswald; his parents and his sister, Hilda Mathis.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Janet (Robie) Taylor, of Plymouth; son, Randall Taylor, of Pottstown, PA; daughter, Kathryn Melanson and husband Steven, of Holderness; four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; two nieces and many friends throughout the greater Plymouth area.
