Gordon P. Kempe, 70 of Bristol, New Hampshire passed away Oct. 12th, 2022.
Born at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford CT., on June 15th, 1952, he was the son of the late George H. Kempe and Mary (Yaremchyshyn) Kempe.
Gordon graduated from East Catholic High School in Manchester, CT in 1970 where he was state champion in his wrestling class. After graduation he attended the following Duquesne University on a wrestling scholarship, Saint Louis University and Medical College of Virginia. After earning multiple Bachelor degrees, a Masters in Nursing and fulfilling the numerous clinical hours across all specialties he sat for and passed the National Certification Exam to become a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist).
In 1973 while attending Duquesne University Gordon met Sherry. After graduation they traveled throughout the United States while Gordon earned his degrees. Their travels continued after Gordon chose the career of a self-employed CRNA. Gordon and Sherry married in 1992 and eventually settled in New Hampshire.
Gordon and Sherry loved restoring old homes and furniture. What others saw as junk they saw as gems. Gordon was active in NHANA (New Hampshire Association of Nurse Anesthetist) and was quite proud of the original pin designed by Sherry for the organization. Gordon had a love for animals especially dogs. Gordon is now reunited with his best fur friend Ricki dog.
Gordon is survived by his wife and closest friend of nearly 50 years Sherry Knierim-Kempe, sister Diane M. Dawson and brother-in-law Thomas Dawson of Florida, brother G. Steven Kempe and sister-in-law Lucy Kempe of Vermont and many more family members and friends. Gordon will be dearly missed by all.
