MEREDITH --- Remembering Gloria Gardener Moore, 93, November 17, 2024; It has been a year since Gloria left us behind to cherish her memory and miss her dearly.

Gloria’s friends and family smile as they recall her adventurous spirit and keen sense of creativity. She is quoted as saying “I’ve lived on 5 continents and spoken 4 languages!” She was a patron of the arts; she loved art, music, dance, fashion, antiques, and history.

Born to French Canadian parents Cleon and Eva Gardner in Nashua NH, Gloria’s mother was an expert seamstress and could duplicate a dress just by seeing it. As a result, Glo developed a keen sense of style to which she remained committed throughout life. She was iconic.

She was smart, ambitious, and successful at most anything she tried. After traveling the world with her first husband, Gloria and the girls returned to the US settling in Plymouth NH. A single parent ahead of her time, she dabbled in real estate and “flipped houses” ; specializing in historic homes. She collected antiques and became a highly recognized antiques dealer and decorator. Lastly, she owned the popular ladies’ boutiques Adornments and Lady of the Lake for over 30 years.

We remember Gloria's smile and that special twinkle in her eye when she was sharing her vast knowledge of the things she loved. Gloria had a library that boasted over 1,000 books. She was always studying and passing on the things she learned to those around her.

She was a precious friend and mentor to those who worked with her. She was a willing conversationalist who never met a stranger and would talk to customers at length about unique items in the stores.

She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved the finer things in life, but most treasured were her friends and family to whom she was Mom, Mother, Glo, Glamma-Glo, Damma-Doe: Michelle Gumpert (Jim Gumpert, d.), Tessa Matthey (Peter Durkee) and Suzette Wilson; son-in-law, Joseph Patta; grandchildren, Jared Gumpert (Alison), Carly Gumpert (Seb Lagana), and Gillian Durkee (Andrew Massey); three great-grandchildren, Audrey, David and Emma Gumpert; sister, Joanne Carson; and nieces and nephew, Tina Toland, Anne-Marie Pifer, Elena Poole, George Critides, Marina Critides, Natalie Critides, and Alexandra Chraplewski, and their children.

She also had those dear to her waiting to greet her on the other side: her beloved husband, Joseph Moore and his daughter, Merry Patta.

Gloria will always be remembered for her answer to how she stayed so youthful, "Never stop learning".
