George E. Thompson

George E. Thompson of Meredith, NH formerly of Brighton, MA and a retired District Chief of the Boston Fire Department passed away on July 22 at the age of 98.
His departed beloved wife was Caroline (Carrie Mainey) from Charlestown, MA. He was devoted to his brothers Donald Thompson of Tilton, NH and Richard Thompson and Andrew Thompson who passed before him.
Loved and revered father of George and Margie Thompson of Newton, NH; Ken and Anne Thompson of Bellingham, MA; and Ruthann and Paul Montgomery of Wallingford, CT. He cherished his grandchildren Shannon and Shawn Murphy; Jake and Kate Thompson; Jason, Ryan, Caroline and Kevin Thompson, and Kyle and Maryanne Montgomery; and he adored his great-grandchildren Liam, Keigan, Jacinta, Adeline and Quinn. He truly loved his extended family and treasured his nieces and nephews. He was dedicated and loyal to his dear friends.
In recognition of his proud service in the U.S. Army during WWII donations in his name can be made to the DAV Disabled American Veterans Charity.
