Gary Allen Mack, 80, of Holderness, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 1st, 2023. Gary was born on June 01,1943, the son of the late Willis and Alice (Gibbons) Mack of Ashland NH.
Gary worked for ten plus years at the Draper Corporation in Beebe River, NH. Later he joined the Holderness Fire Department and the Holderness Police Department in 1970. In the Holderness Fire Department, he held the rank of Deputy Chief. As a Holderness police officer Gary held the rank of Lieutenant. Later in life Gary joined the Plymouth Fire Department where he held the rank of Lieutenant. Gary was also a firearms Instructor for the state of NH, and part time police officer for both Plymouth and Waterville Valley. Gary retired as a career fire fighter in 2003, staying on as a member of the Plymouth Call Fire Department. Gary enjoyed Hunting, fishing, and Camping. He was blessed to be in the care of his son David and girlfriend Kris Kirk's home for the remainder of his life.
Gary is the fourth of five children. He has two brothers Willis Mack and Brian Mack of Campton NH, two sisters Lorraine Mack and Denise Poire of Laconia NH, two children, David Allen Mack of Meredith NH, and Vicky Ann Wright, grandchildren: David Allen Mack Williamson of Jacksonville NC, Dion A. Martin, Matthew, and Luke Wright, along with great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
We would like to give a special thanks to all the men and women who serve and have served as members in the Holderness and Plymouth Fire Department. We would also like to thank the Holderness, Plymouth, and Waterville Valley Police Departments.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 13, 2023, from 10 am to 1 pm at Mayhew Funeral Home at 12 Langdon Street, Plymouth, NH, 03264.
Immediately following the visitation, a procession to Highland Cemetery, Quincy Road, Rumney, NH will be led by a fire apparatus.
A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at the Elks Lodge.
