Fay R. Dwyer

October 28, 1945 — January 18, 2023

Fay Dwyer, age 77, resident of Thornton, NH, formerly Lincoln, NH, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Gerry Dwyer, with whom she enjoyed 21 years of marriage.

Fay was born in Holyoke, MA, on October 28,1945, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Marcia (Lynde) Cousineau of North Woodstock, NH.

A 1963 graduate of Lincoln High School, Fay worked for several years in the business office of the Parker Young Paper Company in Lincoln after graduating. She met and married E. "Jon" LaBrecque of West Thornton, NH, and they co-owned the North Wind Restaurant, which was located on Main Street in North Woodstock, until 1971 when they sold the restaurant to jointly run the Beacon Motel in Lincoln as general managers. Fay and Jon amicably divorced in 1991, and Fay remained the general manager of the Beacon until it was sold in 2014. The Beacon catered to group tours and it was during the St. Paddy's Day tours that she met her second husband, Gerry Dwyer, the manager for the Irish entertainers who performed at the Beacon. Fay and Gerry married in 2001.

When Fay was young, she loved riding her sister Eileen's horse, Birch. She also loved riding her Vespa motor scooter, and later in life she enjoyed riding around the White Mountains on her motorcycle. Fay was an accomplished skier, and enjoyed photography, music, reading, watching rugby, traveling within the US and around Ireland, and was a fan of Formula One racing. Sunday night was always "pizza-and-Formula-One-night." Fay deeply loved her family and friends.

Fay is survived by her three daughters with Jon: Andrea DeStefano and her husband Richard of Litchfield, NH, Erin LaBrecque of Thornton, NH, and Dori Weeden and her husband Blair of Lincoln, NH; her brother Wayne Cousineau and his wife Doris of Laconia, NH; and her sister Elieen Carter and her husband Steve of North Woodstock, NH; and five grandchildren: Miranda, Amelia, Silas, Leah, and Wyatt.

Fay is predeceased by her first husband, Jon, and her brother, Bruce Cousineau.

Services will be held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Holy Trinity Parish, 11 School Street, Plymouth, NH, 03264, on Thursday, February 2 at 10:30 am.
