Eugenia M. Dolan

Eugenia M. "Jean" Dolan, 83, of New Market, VA, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at Forest View Manor in Meredith, NH, after a lengthy illness. Born on January 19, 1926 in Arlington, VA, she was raised in Arlington and attended Cherrydale schools. She married Robert F. Dolan on September 29, 1946 and resided in Middletown, NY for many years.  Eugenia was a member of the North Congregational Church in Middletown and was active in the church activities and thrift shop.  She enjoyed camping and spending time on Cape Cod. In 1995 she moved to New Market, VA to be closer to her brothers in her remaining years.  In New Market she belonged to the American Legion Auxilary and the Order of the Eagles. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Robert F. Dolan, formerly of Middletown, NY; her mother, Maude Wicks Hastings, formerly of Riverdale, MD; four brothers, Robert Hastings formerly of Arlington, VA, William Francis Hastings, formerly of New Market, VA, Harry Hastings and his wife Catherine, formerly of Millsboro, DE, and George Hastings, formerly of New Market, VA. Eugenia is survived by her loving daughter, Maureen A. Fish and husband Barry Fish, of Waterville Valley, NH; her cousin, Mildred Rieping of Middletown, NY; two nieces, Jean Jerread, of Whaleyville, MD, and Shirley Johnson, of Sugar Grove, VA. Memorials:Donations may be made in Eugenia's name to a charity of one's choice. Service:A graveside service will be held at a later date.
