ALEXANDRIA --- Erwin G. Wiswell, 63, of Alexandria, NH, and formerly of Clarksville, NH, died on Monday, August 26, 2024, at home with his family by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Erwin was born on July 19, 1961, in West Stewartstown, NH, to the late George and Jennie (Johnson) Wiswell. He lived in Clarksville, NH, and most recently, in Alexandria, NH.
Erwin worked at Ethan Allen Factory in Beecher Falls, VT, starting at the age of 18. He then worked at Tillotson Rubber Factory for many years until he moved to Alexandria in 1996. He met and married his wife, Carrie, in 1997, then worked at Freudenberg in Bristol, NH for 27 years until his retirement.
Erwin loved anything outdoors; he enjoyed hunting and watching the animals that often frequented his property, spending time cutting firewood for himself and others, and he spent many hours every summer in his vegetable garden and was always proud of his harvest. His favorite past time indoors was watching his favorite TV show, Gunsmoke.
Erwin is survived by his wife, Carrie (Hand) Wiswell; sisters, Shelly (Scott) Brown and Linda Cameron; brother, Arnold Wiswell; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dear friends, Kevin and Teri Cook.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Village Cemetery, Colebrook, NH.
