Elizabeth Joyce (O'Hearn) O'Brien, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 12, 2019, in Campton, NH.
Betty was born on May 26,1926 in Campton, NH to William & Florence (Reed) O'Hearn. She attended school in Campton and Plymouth then went on to Laconia Business School. In June of 1947 she married Joseph O'Brien, also of Campton, at St. Matthew Church in Plymouth. They moved with their children to Maine before settling in Canton, MA.
Betty was a daily communicant, member of the altar guild, and the Daughters of Isabella at St. John Church in Canton. She was also very active in The Arc of the South Shore. Upon retirement, Betty returned to Campton, NH and was an active member of TOPS Plymouth.
Betty is predeceased by her husband of Fifty-one years, Joseph, son William, daughter Karen, and great-grandson Nolan.
Betty is survived by her children Eugene and his wife Joanne of Canton, MA, Robert and his wife Barbara of Stella, NC, Patricia and her husband Michael Doyle of Canton, MA, Joseph and his wife Patty of Paris, Maine, Mary-Claire and her husband Matthew Kelly of Meadowview, VA and Pamela and her husband Mark Troiano of Campton, NH. She was blessed with 14 Grandchild and numerous Great-Grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 11:00 AM, in Holy Trinity Parish, St. Matthews Church, 11 School Street, Plymouth, NH. A private family burial will be held in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Canton, MA. at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Holy Trinity Parish c/o St. Matthew Christian Life Center Capital Campaign 11 School Street, Plymouth, NH 03264 or to Special Olympics NH, 650 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
