Elizabeth Mary Eastman

Elizabeth M. Eastman, age 86 wife of Clifford H. Eastman, Jr. of Campton, NH passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family.

Elizabeth "Betty" Eastman was born on May 4, 1935, in Littleton, NH and was raised in Twin Mountain, NH by her late parents William L. Wright and Gertrude R. (Whalen) Wright. She graduated from Twin Mountain High School in 1953 and married Clifford in 1955.

"Steady Betty" was an avid golfer, winning many club championships in the area and was a ringer for any team she was on. Besides golf she loved skiing, hiking, and bowling with her friends and never missed her daily walk. She was a marvelous baker making the desserts at her daughter's restaurant for over 20 years. She was also a talented seamstress, knitter, painter, and crafter.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Doreen Powers and her husband Tom Powers of Campton, NH and Joan Kleptz and her husband Mark Kleptz of Shelburne, VT and a son Brian Eastman of Campton, NH along with her grandchildren Kayla Haas, Jennifer Balog, Thomas Powers III and Denise Goulet, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers John Wright, William Wright and Paul Wright.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Comfort Keepers and the Pemi-Baker Community Health hospice program for all the great care she received that enable her to remain in her home.

A Catholic mass will be held at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Matthews Church in Plymouth, NH on September 17th at 10 am followed by a burial at Blair Cemetery, Campton. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer's Association at
