Elisabeth passed Saturday November 23, 2024, with her loving daughter Monika by her side. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Jackie E. Cone of 57 years. Elisabeth was born in Schliersee, Germany on February 14, 1937, to Josef and Elisabeth (Leitner) Schwepfinger. She grew up in Bad Tölz, Germany where she later met her husband while he was stationed there in the U.S. Army. Their love story began as she was to be taking piano lessons but was actually on dates with Jackie. They married on March 15, 1963. Jackie ‘s military service took them to America for various training and then back to Germany for the last 9 years of his service. Living in Nürnberg, Darmstadt and Mannheim. They returned as a family to the Atlanta Georgia area for the next 30 plus years.
A lover of all animals and all animals loved her. She was a smart, caring, strong woman with a playful personality. She was an amazing cook, loved to bake and loved to entertain family and friends in her home. She had a creative flair whether it was with arranging flowers for herself or others, decorating her home or maintaining her beautiful yard. During her working career she was a valued member of the CommerzBank and in retirement she worked part time at a regarded flower shop in Atlanta Georgia.
Elisabeth’s greatest loves were her husband and daughter. As a family they traveled the US and abroad creating everlasting memories. Later in life they found their way to New Hampshire where she would look at the mountains and be reminded of home. She will be greatly missed by Monika, her daughter in law Lynda Smethurst and Summit her fur grand-dog. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the New Hampshire Humane Society.
