Elaine Lucille Karkheck

Elaine Lucille Karkheck, 78, of Sculptured Rocks Road, died April 19, 2009, at the Merrimack County Home, in Boscawen.     Born in Brooklyn on January 10, 1931, she was the daughter of Joseph and Victoria [Malin] Sidaras.      She grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from New York Public Schools.  After graduation, she worked for Domino Sugar Company.  She met her husband, George, and it was love at first sight.  She was a devoted wife of 53 years, until his death in 2004.  In 1971, the family moved from Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island, NY to Groton.     Elaine had several jobs over the years.  She retired in 1990, from Speare Memorial Hospital, Plymouth, where she worked as a switchboard operator.     She enjoyed gardening and her flowers.  She was a fantastic cook and loved to spend time with her family and especially her grandchildren.     She leaves behind two sons, Michael Karkheck and wife Judy of Groton, William Karkheck and wife Susan of Bridgewater, grandchildren, Teirrah Hussey, Michael Karkheck Jr, Matthew and Lily Karkheck, great granddaughter, Dlorah Hussey, sister Adele Brown of Clearwater, FL, brother, Joseph Sidaras of Patchogue, NY, nieces and nephews.Memorials:In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Timothy's Church Women's Club, PO Box 37, Bristol, NH. 03222.  Visitation:     A calling hour will held in the Holy Trinity Parish, Our Lady of Grace Church, Bristol, on Wednesday 12pm to 1pm.  Service:     A calling hour will held in the Holy Trinity Parish, Our Lady of Grace Church, Bristol, on Wednesday 12pm to 1pm.  Cemetery:Private burial will be held in the NH Veterans Cemetery.
