Edward Dobson

March 11, 1926 — March 5, 2014

Edward Dobson, 87, of Greyhound St., gently went to sleep surrounded by his loving family on March 5, 2014, at Lakes Region General Hospital, in Laconia.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on March 11, 1926, he was the son of Vernon and Linda (Morrill) Dobson. Edward grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School. He resided in Salem, NH for many years before moving to Moultonborough in 1991. Edward went to work at the Merrimack Paper Company in Lawrence at a young age and worked there until his retirement in 1991 as the Vice President of the company. He was a World War II US Army Air Corps veteran and was trained as a tail gunner on B-17 aircrafts.

Edward volunteered for Habitat of Humanity and also for Meals on Wheels, for many years. He was an active member of the Moultonborough Lions Club and had served as treasurer; he was also the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award.

Edward is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Dorothy T. (Holmes) Dobson, of Moultonborough; son, David E. Dobson, of Salem; daughter, Patrice L. Dobson, of Triangle, VA; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

It was Edward's wishes that no services be held.
