Edith Jesse Jackson

Edith J. Jackson, 83, passed away at Huggins Hospital, in Wolfeboro, on Friday, February 21, 2014 after an illness.

Born in Worcester, MA, on August 19, 1930, she was the daughter of Garfield J. and Alice A. (Brigham) Baker. Edith was raised in Worcester, attending local schools; she moved to Medford, MA with her family and graduated from the Medford High School. She retired with her second husband, James Duddy to the Lakes Region in the 1980's.

Edith was a loving mother of six children, ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor; she loved to paint, draw, cook, and camp. She also enjoyed water skiing and snowmobiling. Edith loved the art of ceramics and she taught the craft in her home for many years. She was an avid "thrifter" who always visited the local thrift shops and yard sales looking for a good deal. Edith will be dearly missed by her loving family.

She is predeceased by her husbands, Thomas McPherson, James Duddy, and John Jackson.

Edith is survived by her four children, Danny G. McPherson, of Beverly, MA, Michael McPherson, of Milton, Kathleen McPherson, of Plymouth, and James Duddy, of Moultonborough; thirteen grandchildren, Jannelle, Jon, Meriel, and Elizabeth Boren, Benjamin Cawley, Allison Roy and husband Ricky, Amy McPherson, Patrick Duddy and wife Brianna, Rachel Duddy, James Duddy, Christine Duddy, Charlotte Bailey, Jenna O'Brien and her husband Dennis; eight great-grandchildren, Seth, Claire, Annabelle, Richard, Autumn, Ryan, Lilly, and Adriana.
