Dorothy Jane Woodworth

Dorothy Jane Woodworth, 76, a resident of Moultonborough for 42 years, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Wolfeboro Care and Rehab Center after a short stay.

Born on January 13, 1936, in Belmont, MA, she was the daughter of the late Harris W. and Dorothy P. (Johnson) Crouse. Dorothy moved to Billerica, MA at a young age before spending her teen years in Winthrop, MA. Dorothy was married at the age of 18, soon after she traveled to occupied Germany on an Army troop transport to be with her husband who was stationed there.

Dorothy was a very active and involved community person; she was a member of several area clubs including: Moultonborough Women's Club, Melvin Village Hikers, NCO & Officers Wives Clubs, she was a member of the Girl Scouts, and was an active member of the All Saints Episcopal Church, of Wolfeboro. For 25 years, she and her husband Robert owned and operated the Silver Stag Cottages, in Moultonborough.

Dottie devoted her life to helping family and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, a brother, Harris W. Crouse, Jr., and sister, Muriel I. (Crouse) Gifford.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert C. Woodworth, of Moultonborough; sister-in-law, Eleanor Crouse and many nieces and nephews.
