Donald Lott

Donald Lott, 81, of North Ashland Road, Ashland, passed away at home on Sunday, July 11, 2010. Donny was born in Utica, New York on February 23rd, 1929 to Herbert and Edith (Gove) Lott. Donny was inducted into the Army on May 11th 1951. He completed his infantry and Artillery training at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas and Fort Lawton, Washington. On Oct 24th 1951 he was assigned to the 48th field Artillery Battalion in South Korea. During his tour of duty which lasted until Sept. 14th 1952 he received the Commendation medal along with two service Bronze stars for his outstanding performance and conscientious attitude. Donald received his Honorable Discharge on August 7th 1956. Donny lived most of his life in Ashland and worked at the Ashland Paper Mill for many years. He later retired from Pike Industries after 31 years of service. He continued working at his home on small engine repairs for the last several years. Donny was predeceased by his parents and a brother Everett. Donny is survived by his wife, Rita (Morrison) and four children. Steven Burrows and wife, Doreen of Holderness, John Burrows and wife, Cindy of Laconia, Susan White of Texas and Dana Lott of Ashland, a brother, Willis and his wife, Jean, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Donny was a wonderful father, a gentleman and a gentle man. Memorials:In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Donny's memory to the American Cancer Society, Northern New England Region, Two Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.Visitation:There will be no calling hours.Service:A graveside service will be held at the Green Grove Cemetery, Main Street, Ashland on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Edward J. Charest, pastor of the Plymouth United Methodist Church will officiate.
