Plymouth- It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Donald George Colburn, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who peacefully left this world on March 20th, 2026. Born on June 27, 1943, in the picturesque town of Richford Vermont, Donalds life was tapestry of love, Service and adventure, woven together with threads of resilience and warmth.

Donald was the cherished son of Stanley and Alice Colburn, who predeceased him along with his brothers Charley and Richard Colburn. He is survived by his devoted wife Bobbie Lynn Colburn who stood by his side through every triumph and challenge. He leaves behind his loving son Patrick Colburn, and Patrick's fiancée Jennifer Keith as well as his treasured grandchildren Jennifer, Hayden, Ian, and Spencer Colburn. Who were the joy of his life. Donald also leaves his brother John Colburn, and sisters Colleen Nailer, Virginia Davis, and Barbie Latimer who were his lifelong confidants and companions

A proud Graduate of Enosburg High School. Donald's sense of duty and adventure led him to serve in the US Army, where he reached the rank of Sergeant. He completed three tours in Vietnam and was honored with three bronze Stars. Serving in 32 foreign countries and visiting 48 US States, his commitment to his country was matched by his dedication to his community as a police officer in Bristol New Hampshire, and through various roles in inventory and logistics across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Virginia.

Donald was a valued member of the America legion and VFW, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and service his quick wit and comical sarcasm brought smiles to many, and he was never at a loss for words to lighten the mood. An avid outdoorsman Donald found solace in nature whether camping, hunting or fishing along the riverbanks with his grandchildren. He brought joy to many with his handcrafted Christmas wreaths, a reflection of his creativity and generosity. A loyal Boston red sox fan, he rarely missed a game finding excitement and camaraderie in America's favorite pastime.

Donald's life will be celebrated on April 17th, 2026, at 11:00 am at St Matthew's Church, located at 11 School St Plymouth NH. As we gather to honor his memory, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing doctors and nurses at the White River Junction VA hospital for their unwavering care and support over the past 22 years. Special thanks also go to the in-home nurses who provided compassionate assistance in the final months of his life.

Donald will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His kindness, devotion, and unconditional love will forever be felt by all who were fortunate to know him. As his family, we find comfort in the legacy of love he leaves behind and hold him close to our hearts, knowing that his spirit will guide us always.
