THORNTON---DERRICK B. SLEEPER, 59, of 289 Upper Mad River Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
Derrick was born on March 11, 1956, in Burlington, Vermont, the son of Donald and Priscilla (Uhlman) Sleeper. He attended Plymouth High School, graduating in 1974. After graduating from high school, Derrick enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country. After serving for seven years, Derrick came home to work in several area restaurants.
Derrick was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the great outdoors, loved antiquing, and refinishing old furniture. He was very involved serving the Lord at Calvary Christian School, a ministry of Calvary Independent Baptist Church.
Derrick is survived by his parents; one brother, Edward Sleeper of Plymouth, New Hampshire; and two sisters: Cheryl Nagamatsu of Danbury, Connecticut, and Gail Auffant of Hampton, New Hampshire. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Harry and Hilma Uhlman and Wendell and Mildred Sleeper.
